Frequently Asked Questions
No. Most clients start with a general sense that something isn’t working, not a clear diagnosis. Part of the first session is helping you understand what you’re actually dealing with.
Not at all. Most first time clients have never done this before. There’s no right way to start, and no expectation that you’ll know what to say or how sessions work in advance.
No. You don’t need a crisis or a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. Ongoing stress in a relationship, discomfort around intimacy, or simply wanting to understand yourself better are all valid reasons to reach out.
If it’s affecting your confidence, your relationship, or your day to day life, it’s worth addressing. You don’t need to wait until a concern feels severe to talk about it.
Sessions are conversations, not assessments. You talk, I listen and ask questions, and together we work toward understanding the concern and building a plan to address it. There are no tests, no forms to fill mid session, and no pressure to perform.
This depends on the concern and how it responds to therapy. Some clients see meaningful change in a handful of sessions. Others benefit from longer term work. We discuss this openly after the first session, so it’s never left vague.
I draw from narrative therapy, behavioural techniques, and the Gottman Method, depending on what fits the concern. Read more on the About page.
Sessions are available online only. Online sessions take place over a secure video call and follow the same structure as in person sessions.
That’s a completely valid outcome, and it happens. You’re free to tell me, and it won’t be an awkward or difficult conversation. Fit matters more than continuing out of politeness.

Both can help, often together. If there’s a physical cause involved, a medical evaluation is recommended alongside therapy. Many sexual health concerns have both physical and psychological components, and treatment often works best when both are addressed.
Yes. Differences in desire between partners are one of the most common concerns in couples therapy. I address this directly, without assigning blame to either partner.
No. Every concern raised in session is treated with the same professionalism and respect. Shame is often part of what brings people to therapy in the first place, and addressing it is part of the work.
Yes, couples sessions are conducted with both partners present. Individual sessions may also be used alongside couples work when useful, always with both partners’ knowledge.
Yes. Couples therapy is available to any two partners in a relationship, regardless of marital status.

No. The goal is to help both partners understand what’s happening and work through it together, not to decide who’s right.
