Therapy for sexual shame and body image concerns affecting intimacy and confidence. Confidential, judgment free sessions with a trained psychologist.
Shame around sex and discomfort with your own body are among the most common, and most silently carried, concerns people bring into therapy. They often shape how safe or confident you feel during intimacy, sometimes without you fully realizing why. Therapy helps you understand where that shame comes from and build a different relationship with it.
Shame around sex and body image rarely appears out of nowhere. Common sources include growing up in a household where sex was never discussed, or only discussed as something shameful or forbidden, religious or moral messaging that framed desire itself as wrong, comparison to unrealistic body standards amplified by social media and film, and past comments about weight, skin tone, or appearance that stayed with you longer than intended. Understanding where it comes from doesn’t require reliving every detail. It requires recognizing the pattern clearly enough to start changing your relationship with it.

Shame Is Different From Guilt
These often get treated as the same thing, but they’re not, and the difference matters. Guilt is feeling bad about something you did. Shame is feeling bad about who you are. Guilt can be useful, it points to something worth changing. Shame usually isn’t, it just tells you that you’re flawed, without pointing anywhere useful at all. A lot of what people carry around sex and their bodies is shame wearing the shape of guilt, and separating the two is often where real change starts.
How Sessions Work
Sessions draw heavily on narrative therapy, which helps separate you from the story you’ve been carrying about your body or your sexuality, alongside behavioural techniques to build comfort and confidence gradually. This work happens entirely at your pace. Nothing is discussed before you’re ready, and there’s no requirement to share every detail to make progress.
Your Privacy Is Protected
Everything discussed in session is confidential, protected under Indian law. Read my full Privacy and Confidentiality policy.
Yes. How comfortable you feel in your body directly affects how present and confident you feel during intimacy, which is why this is addressed as part of sexual health, not separately from it.
No. This is talk therapy. Nothing visual is ever required, and the work happens entirely through conversation.
Only as much as feels useful to you. Some clients find it helpful to explore where the shame comes from, others focus more on the present. Both approaches are valid.
This is typically worked on individually, even if it’s affecting a relationship. A partner can be involved later if that feels useful.
